Clothing

Dress according to the weather and leave your finest clothes at home. The moose tour is outdoors and if it rains you get wet. Before and after the tour you can of course warm up in our café.

Booking

You can book your tour with our Internet booking. You then book and pay by credit card. You can book, change and cancel until one hour before the tour starts. You should receive a voucher and a booking reference code in an email. If this does not arrive, the booking is not complete. You need to bring the voucher or the booking reference when you arrive for your tour. Your place is reserved until 30 minutes before the tour leaves. If you haven’t checked in by then, we may allow drop-in guests to take your seat.
You are also welcome to arrive without pre-booking for all tours that are open to the public. You then pay on arrival, cash or credit card, and are offered a seat on a first-come first-served basis. That’s why it is a good idea to arrive early if you haven’t booked.

Eating

We have a small café with a basic menu. You can get a good Moose Sandwich, on rye bread with moose-sausage, waffles, hot dogs, home-made cinnamon rolls and cakes and of course, ice-cream. Coffees, Teas and sodas are also available. You can eat outside or inside, depending on taste and weather. If you bring your own picnic you can eat it in the designated outdoor areas.
Food for babies and for special dietary needs is allowed in the café.

Shop

We have a small souvenir shop next to reception. You will find lots of moose-related stuff here, kitchen stuff, soft toy animals, bags, stickers, and trinkets. And some edible things like candy, moose pasta and locally produced honey. There is something for every taste and price range.
The shop is decorated with antlers, skins and stuffed wild animals. Most of the antlers come from our live moose, the males drop their pair every year and you can follow their growth and development.

Activities

There is more to do than just the moose tour:
Check out our exhibition of Santa Clauses and gnomes! There are almost 1900 different items that live in Santa’s cottage.
Enjoy the farm and the silence – Gårdsjö is a genuine Swedish farm with forests and fields, red houses and barns, animals and people.
Look at the animals – there are rabbits, chickens and horses nearby.
Have a “fika” – the Swedish way of socialising over a coffee and a little something.
Browse the shop – it’s a lovely little shop with nice souvenirs and fun stuff – lots of great gifts for those who have everything and nice memories from your visit to the Moose!

Payment

You can pay three different ways with us. Book and pay in advance by credit card via our Internet booking system. Pay at reception with cash or by credit card.
For groups we can also invoice your visit – please contact us in advance to make an agreement on this.
