Winner 2021. The motivation was: Johan Gustafsson is well deserving of the Hedershorn because of his survival strategy when he was kidnapped at his hotel in Mali on his motorcycle trip through Africa. When he was held prisoner in the desert, Johan realized that he could buy himself time and save his life by converting to Islam. He lived under tough conditions and with the uncertainty and anxiety about what would happen to him. But then after almost 6 years he becomes a free man and is allowed to leave the desert behind to return home to his family in Sweden. Johan is a true survivor and a very worthy winner of the Hedershorn 2021. The horn was dropped by Pelle.
